As a Child:Growing up, I was constantly around sports, thanks to my older brother. He played everything from hockey to baseball, and I cheered and took stats (for fun) at every game. I, on the other hand, was a theatre kid. I danced, sang, and did the backstage tech work as well. Both of these different worlds definitely carry over into my classroom now.
As a Student:As a student, I took studies very seriously. After graduating high school, I attended Alma College where I studied Elementary Education and Language Arts. I graduated with honors, and after teaching for a few years, went on to pursue my Master's in Educational Technology from Michigan State University.
In My Free Time:When I'm not busy at school, I love to read, especially young adult books to recommend to my students. See the novels (via Goodreads) that I have recently completed on the right! I also like to watch television, watch live sports, go to concerts, and run 5K races.

As an Educator:As an educator, I give my all to build relationships and engage students in interesting lessons. I enjoy showing my passion for Literature and the writing processes surrounding it. I believe that all students are capable of great success with the right guidance, respect, and engagement.
